Jim Ross Comments On The Original ECW

Ross posted the following excerpt on his blog;

"Speaking of hardcore, extreme, etc I will always have great respect for the Original ECW because of the passion and work ethic of all involved. Paul Heyman had great vision for what he wanted to create and his talents bought into that vision. I bring this up because the letters "ECW" will leave weekly TV in 3 weeks and will be replaced with a new, WWE produced program. Anxious to see what they come up with for Sy Fy."

Steiner Done With TNA?

Scott Steiner has been removed from TNA's roster page, although nothing else regarding his status with the company is known.

WWE Legal Problems With Indy Company

The WWE legal team have been doing a lot of chest pounding this week. Lauren Middlen, who is WWE's intellectual property attorney, sent out a number of threat-o-grams to wrestling fansites for using photos of WWE wrestlers and they also sent a cease and desist letter on Tuesday to a

small UK independent group based out of Portsmouth, England for trademark infringement.

Varsity Pro Wrestling are running shows next weekend with former WWE wrestlers billed as Hardcore Holly, Billy Gunn [Kip James] and Road Dogg [Brian James]. Their promotional poster they put up all over town also included the DX Logo. WWE said if VPW didn't

recall all advertising baring WWE trademarks within 48 hours they would commence legal proceedings.

WWE's letter to the group stated: "It is WWE’s concern that The Guildhall [the building VPW are running their shows] is using the popularity of the WWE trademarks to improperly

attempting to pass off this event as an official event of WWE. Your actions in doing so constitute unfair competition and false designation of origin. WWE, as trademark holder, can institute a civil action seeking permanent injunctive relief and an award of treble damages, counsel fees and costs." A rep from VPW told us that they have responded

to WWE and met their demands.

It will be interesting to see how much effect this will have on the Wrestlemania 26 buyrates.

Ron Simmons Attacking McMahon And Here Political Life With WWE's Use Of Eugene

The following article is from Courant;

A day after Rob Simmons attacked Linda McMahon and World Wrestling Entertainment, the company she helped build and once led, for insensitivity toward people with mental disabilities, the McMahon campaign fought back.

The issue bubbled to the surface of an already acrimonious campaign between Simmons and McMahon, both Republicans running for U.S. Senate, after White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel used a derogatory word for people with learning disabilities.

That prompted the Simmons camp to circulate a couple of YouTube videos showing a WWE storyline that featured Eugene, a character with a mental impairment, being humiliated in the ring.

"Rob Simmons indicates once again that he doesn't understand how to separate fact from fiction,'' Ed Patru, a spokesman for the McMahon campaign, said in a statement. "In the soap opera world of WWE, the character 'Eugene' was developmentally disabled, but rather than the beaten down, pathetic character that Rob presents, Eugene was treated via scripting like all WWE superstars with no special privileges. He competed in the ring or in a steel cage, sometimes winning, but often losing as an underdog. In the end, in spite of any disability, he was victorious and became a hero.

"Rather than a pathetic character, he was inspirational."

"It was through WWE's work with the Special Olympics since 1986 that Linda understands that these special athletes don't want preferential treatment.  They just want a chance to succeed. Eugene proved to them that they could.

"Rob just seems to love those YouTube videos, which are taken out of context and don't tell the whole soap opera story line.

"Linda, however, will continue to focus on the real life issues of  jobs, soaring  debt,  tax increases, and runaway spending, and she will fight job-killing legislation like Cap and Trade and Card Check, both of which Simmons cosponsored as a Congressman."

WWE Legends Contractual Updates

According to a report by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the talk in WWE right now is that the company has no interest in renewing a lot of the legends marketing contracts when they will start expiring this year.

Honkey Tonk Man Claims He Was Never In Talks With TNA

The following highlights are from the HTM's interview with The Shoot radio show;

This past Thursday, February 4th, The Honky Tonk Man was a guest on The Shoot radio show. Host Gary Cantrell welcomed him to the show and recognized him as a legend and the Greatest Intercontinental champion of all time. Honky Tonk Man referred to himself as the "Most Controversial Figure in Professional Wrestling". Gary replied that "with the most controversial figure in professional wrestling and the most controversial internet wrestling radio show things could get insane".

HTM didn't waste anytime laying jabs into certain people. His first target was TNA's Bubba the Love Sponge whom he referred to as Todd Alan Clem which was Bubba's old legal name. HTM mentioned that he was in Bubba's old hometown of Warsaw Indiana recently and claimed that the people of Warsaw "ran that fat prick out of town". He claimed the people saw Bubba as "common ordinary Trailer Park trash". Gary asked HTM about his first experience on the Bubba show. "I was ambushed on that show" replied HTM referring to the time he was tricked onto Bubba's show. Gary mentioned that it was "Spice Boy" (Matt Loyd) who hosted the fake show that lured HTM on. "I wouldn't recognize him if he came out of my ass" referring to Spice Boy. HTM mentioned that he was done speaking of Mr. Clem and wanted to move on asking Gary who he wanted him to shoot on next.

Gary said he wanted to talk about HTM's ass whooping list. According to HTM the top of the list was TNA's Eric Bischoff. "If Eric Bischoff was laying on the side of the road and his heart was on fire, I'd don't even think i'd stop to piss in his mouth." said the Honky Tonk Man. At this point, what Honky Tonk Man doesn't realize is that Spice Boy is waiting on hold and can hear all of what HTM is saying. Gary mentions that he has a few callers on the line that want to speak to him and HTM says he doesn't want to talk to any of those "Bubba Army" guys but he welcomed controversy. Gary welcomes the first "caller" on. The caller identifies himself as Matt from the Bubba show. The insults begin to fly between these two, with quite a bit of expletives too much for one recap to contain. To hear all of the "good stuff" you'll have to listen to the show. One piece of interesting information is when the Honky Tonk Man laughed and said he worked everybody and admitted that there never was talks or a deal with TNA. Spice Boy said the sad part was that the Honky Tonk Man probably thought he had a chance with TNA. "I worked you f*ckers all the way to the very end, there was no deal" said the Honky Tonk Man. To hear the entire 15 minute uncensored confrontation, head over to http://www.blogtalkradio.com/theshoot and select Episode #154.

Bret Hart Comments On Meeting Up With JB

Hart wrote the following on Facebook;

"It was nice seeing Jeremy Borash, a longtime friend of mine, from TNA while I was in Nashville. He hung out with me and we never once talked wrestling. Some feeble minded idiot who saw us in plain view tried to start the rumour that I might be heading to TNA next; although why anyone would ever think I'd let Hogan and Bischoff anywhere near my Hitman persona again is truly beyond me."

Update On The Brand To Replace ECW

The show replacing ECW on Tuesday's on SyFy will be called "WWE NXT" as rumored earlier. The show debuts March 2.  This most likely will involve developmental/future stars in the making.

WWE Superstars Report

The following report is from Wrestleview;

The WWE Superstars video plays and we’re brought into the arena with some pyrotechnics. Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to the show. We’re opening up with the “smart, sexy, and powerful” divas. Gag me with these buzz phrases.

Kelly Kelly & Eve Torres vs. Alicia Fox & Katie Lea Burchill

Alicia Fox will start this out against Eve. They lock up and Fox gets a side headlock takeover quickly. Eve fights up and whips her off. Fox grounds her with a shoulder block. Fox goes into the ropes and gets taken down by a dropkick. Burchill is tagged in and she quickly gets a waist lock on. Eve twists out and tags in Kelly. Eve hits an arm snapmare and they do a double elbow drop for a one count. Burchill powers her to her corner and Kelly fights them away. Burchill misses a splash in the corner and takes a hip toss. Kelly tags in Eve, who hits a top rope sunset flip for a near fall.

Eve has a whip reversed on her but Burchill lowers her head and gets kicked. Eve hits a clothesline and then a summersault senton for a one count. Eve charges her in the corner but eats a boot. Burchill then charges into a Samoan Drop. Eve goes for a moonsault but Fox distracts her. Burchill throws Eve over the top rope and she may have hurt her knee. Burchill works on the injured knee by jamming it into the apron. Burchill hits a leg DDT for a two count. Burchill tags in Fox and Fox whips the knee into the canvas. Fox applies a single leg crab. Fox releases the hold before she gets to the ropes and drags her back to her corner. Fox then goes into the ropes and takes the worst looking monkey flip I’ve seen in a while.

Kelly is tagged in and she hits a pair of clotheslines before ducking one and hitting a swinging head-scissors takeover. Kelly hits a handspring back elbow in the corner and a hurricanrana for a near fall broken up by Burchill. Eve tries to help out but Burchill knocks her down. Kelly throws Burchill out of the ring before hitting Fox with a top rope cross-body block. Fox uses the momentum to turn the pin and steal one for her team.

Did you know that WWE.com had over 4.3 billion pave views in 2009? Yeah – they beat a whole bunch of websites. Who cares?

Evan Bourne vs. Carlito

Bourne fights up but Carlito hits a swinging neckbreaker for a near fall.

Carlito applies a knee to the back chin lock. Bourne fights up and kicks away at Carlito’s knee. Bourne sends him to the ropes but Carlito hits a springboard back elbow for a near fall. Bourne goes for Air Bourne but Carlito crotches him on top. Carlito goes for a superplex but Bourne fights out. Bourne hits a nice sunset flip powerbomb and goes up top! Air Bourne connects and he picks up the win!

Mike’s Thoughts

This was a pretty average edition of Superstars. There was a lack of ECW on here for the second time in a row. I was hoping to call a little more ECW action but oh well. The divas put on a terrible match that even editing couldn’t save. Bourne and Carlito looked good as did the six man tag. Other than that there’s not much to say.

Final Rating: * ¾

Superstars ended up receiving a 1.0 cable rating as usual.

TNA IMPACT Results

The results were as follows;

Mr. Anderson Defeated Brutus Magnus In An Eight Card Stud Qualifying Match

Hernandez And Matt Morgan (C) Defeated Team 3D To Retain Their TNA World Tag Team Championships

Samoa Joe Defeated Jesse Neal In Another Eight Man Stud Qualifying Match

“The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero Defeated AJ Styles (C) In A Non-Title Match

Kurt Angle Defeated Tomko In Another Eight Man Stud Qualifying Match

Tara (C) defeated Angelina Love To Retain Her TNA Knockout Championship

Kevin Nash Defeated Mick Foley In A No DQ Match

*Here's what I had to say on Camel Clutch Blog about the entire show;

Overall, I felt that this was a very good addition of IMPACT! Great action throughout, and two great segments (one with Bischoff and Foley and the other with Joe and AJ). Against All Odds is shaping up to be a very interesting PPV to say the very least. The many(too many) different feuds/storylines became a lot more define on this night, however I didn’t particularly enjoy the start of the Hall/Pac vs. Nash deal. I don’t see any pay off with that. TNA was more focused this week, but still has a long ways to go when it comes to the Angle, Hogan, Hall, Pac, and Nash deal. Great world title feud though, which in my opinion should be the main focus of the show, not these veterans. I’ll give IMPACT a B plus here, almost an A minus but not quite because confusion still exists without sole focus on feuds/storylines.

*For a very detailed look at this show, check out my article at the following link;

http://www.CamelClutchBlog.com/tna-impact-2-10/

*IMPACT also ended up scoring a 1.2 cable rating.  The shock of Hogan coming to TNA is already starting to settle???  TNA officials are said to be unhappy with this.

WWE SmackDown Report

The following report is from Wrestleview;

A video plays hyping the return of Edge to Smackdown. After winning the Royal Rumble he’ll interview the World Heavyweight Champion, the Undertaker, on the Cutting Edge.

The Smackdown video plays and we’re brought into the arena with a big fireworks display. Todd Grisham and Matt Striker welcome us to the show. Tonight we’ll have qualifying matches for the World Heavyweight Title Elimination Chamber. We’ll also see footage of what happened after Raw went off the air.

Chris Jericho’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring with that black eye. Jericho quiets the fans down and says tonight was supposed to be his night. He should be standing here the 2010 Royal Rumble winner but he is not. That honor was taken away from him this past Sunday and as a result the Main Event of WrestleMania XXVI. Jericho has been preparing for that main event since he beat four men in the same night at WrestleMania XXV (I thought it was three? Oops!). Jericho has been carefully constructing his return to the main event for the past ten months yet in ten seconds on Sunday that was taken away from him by Edge. Edge entered under false pretenses. He returned unannounced and doesn’t deserve the win. Jericho deserves it.

While Edge was at home with his torn Achilles Tendon for seven months, he has been carrying the entire company on his back. He’s been filling arenas, winning championships, accruing accomplishments every single night. Now, just because Edge is back for five minutes that’s all anyone can talk about. Jericho says Edge is a con artist just like all of us. Edge is the same man with no heart, passion, no fire – he’s the man who was selfish and had the audacity to walk out on him when they were Tag Team Champions. Now Edge is going to WrestleMania and he has nothing – NOTHING! Jericho says he is too good to settle for nothing. He is Chris Jericho and he settles for nothing! Now Teddy Long tells him he has to qualify to be in the Elimination Chamber. Chris Jericho has to qualify for nothing. Jericho demands Teddy Long to come out and rectify the situation. He wants repercussions against Edge because he is the face of Smackdown. Teddy Long doesn’t come out and Jericho keeps shouting. Finally Jericho walks to the back to go find him.

Jericho is walking backstage yelling at people to tell him where Long’s office is. Jericho intimidates a stage hand and he tells him where it is. Jericho walks into the office and Long is sitting there with a newspaper covering his face. Jericho rips it away and it’s EDGE! Edge says Jericho looks like he’s seen a ghost and mentions that his face is the same face he made when he eliminated him from the Royal Rumble. Edge says Jericho is the reason he’s back. Jericho is the one that lit the fire that made him work every second of every day to get back. Edge thanks him and says Jericho created a monster. Jericho says if he created a monster than he can slay the monster. Jericho says he’ll regret he ever came back. Edge says NO and says Jericho will regret that he came back.

Edge says tonight he’s going to celebrate by bringing back the Cutting Edge and he’ll have an interview with a guy he can face at WrestleMania – an old acquaintance of his, the Undertaker. Jericho says congratulations and he’ll be watching.

Some interior shots of Graceland are shown. That’s the home of Elvis Presley for those of you unaware.

Matt Striker hypes up the Elimination Chamber before bringing us to a video showing highlights of all its evil destructiveness.

Elimination Chamber Triple Threat Qualifying Match
Drew McIntyre vs. John Morrison vs. Kane

The bell rings and Morrison quickly works on McIntyre with strikes. Kane pulls on Morrison’s hair and Morrison punches away at Kane. McIntyre knocks Morrison down from behind and punches away at Kane in the corner. Morrison rolls McIntyre up for a one count. Kane grabs them both by the throat but they kick him and hit a double team DDT. Morrison and McIntyre go back to hating one another as Morrison punches away at him. McIntyre pushes him away and Morrison charges with a running cross-body block that sends them both over the top rope!

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see McIntyre on top of Kane punching away. McIntyre pushes him to the corner and punches. Kane comes back with a big uppercut and hits a snapmare. Kane hits a low dropkick for a two count broken up by Morrison. Morrison punches and kicks at Kane. Morrison hits McIntyre with a European Uppercut. McIntyre reverses a whip and counters Morrison’s head-scissor attempt into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for a two count broken up by Kane. McIntyre punches at Kane before going into the ropes and eating a big boot.

Kane goes to the top rope and Morrison hits him with a pele kick. McIntyre then clotheslines Morrison out of the ring. McIntyre punches Kane and goes for a superplex but Kane blocks it. Kane knocks him off and grabs him by the throat. Kane comes off the top rope and goes for a Chokeslam but Morrison hits him with a Flying Chuck! Morrison hits McIntyre with a clothesline and a dropsault. Morrison then ducks a clothesline from Kane and hits a low dropkick to the knee. Morrison then drops him with a jumping calf kick and covers for a near fall broken up by McIntyre.

McIntyre stomps Morrison and head-butts him. McIntyre sends him to the ropes and goes for a sidewalk slam but Morrison counters into a DDT for a near fall broken up by Kane! Morrison punches at Kane until he’s taken out by an uppercut. Kane sends McIntyre to the corner and hits a corner clothesline. Kane then hits Morrison with a corner clothesline before clotheslining McIntyre over the top rope. Kane punches Morrison and sends him to the ropes but Morrison slides under his legs. Morrison can’t avoid a sidewalk slam but kicks out at two. Kane goes to the top rope and hits Morrison with a flying lariat.

Kane signals for the Chokeslam but McIntyre blindsides him with the Intercontinental Championship. We’re now reminded that this is no disqualification as McIntyre hits the Future Shock (Double Arm DDT). Morrison then kicks McIntyre in the face and hits Kane with Starship Pain for the win!

Winner by Pinfall: John Morrison
Match Rating: ** ¼

Tonight we’ll see the Cutting Edge with the Undertaker as the guest.

-Commercial Break-

After the next match we’ll see footage of what happened after Raw went off the air.

Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match
R-Truth vs. Mike Knox

With the way they’ve been misusing Mike Knox I think the result of this match is a foregone conclusion. What a shame. Anyway, the match begins and they lock up. R-Truth quickly gets a side headlock applied. Knox whips him to the corner so R-Truth slingshots over, splits under a clothesline, but get annihilated by a Cross-Body Block by Knox for a near fall! Knox kicks him in the head and hits a body slam. Knox drops a knee for a two count. Knox covers again for a one count. Knox hits a forearm and whips him to the ropes but R-Truth holds on. Knox charges but R-Truth pulls down the top rope, which sends him to the outside.

R-Truth hits an over the top rope senton on Knox and sends him into the ring. R-Truth hits a missile dropkick. R-Truth goes for the Scissors Kick but has to duck a clothesline. R-Truth then hits the Lie Detector for the win.

Winner by Pinfall: R-Truth
Match Rating: *

R-Truth dances wildly after earning a spot in the Elimination Chamber. So far it’s Undertaker vs. John Morrison vs. R-Truth.

We now see footage of what happened at Raw. We all saw what happened when Batista ran down and held Bret Hart while Vince McMahon spat in his face. What we didn’t see was John Cena running down to make the save. Cena helps the Hitman up as Batista walks away. Cena raises Hart’s arm and Batista runs back in to throw Cena into the ring post. Batista throws him into the steps and over the announcer’s table. Batista lays him out with a shot to the face with the steel steps. Batista then hits a Batista Bomb on top of the steel steps! What a bump! The Bump of the Night may not have happened on this night!

CM Punk is backstage with Luke Gallows and Serena. Punk says with him there is no them. Without the leader there is no Straightedge Society. Punk says this because tonight he steps in the ring with Batista. They saw what he did to Bret Hart and John Cena and Batista has it in his heart to do that to him. Batista wants to end his crusade. While he’s protected them tonight he wants to know what they’re willing to do to protect their savior. Serena says anything. Gallows says he knows what’s at stake and he’d sacrifice himself to preserve their salvation and Straightedge Society. Punk says this is good because tonight they both might have to. CM Punk will take on Batista next.

Still to come tonight is the Cutting Edge with the Undertaker as the Special Guest.

Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match
Batista vs. CM Punk

Gross – Punk now has nipple rings. I don’t remember them from Sunday. Batista is standing in the corner smiling. Punk doesn’t look happy that Batista isn’t taking this seriously. Batista gets on the apron and goes outside the ring. Batista then walks up the ramp and gets counted out.

Winner by Count-Out: CM Punk
Match Rating: N/A

The Straightedge Society celebrates big time in the ring. It’s now Undertaker vs. John Morrison vs. R-Truth vs. CM Punk.

Matt Hardy is walking backstage when he runs into Maria. Hardy congratulates her for the Celebrity Apprentice. She thanks him and wishes him luck in his match. Matt Hardy then makes his way to the ring. He’ll face Chris Jericho next.

Jericho pushes him and quickly gets out of the ring to avoid Hardy again. Jericho gets back in and they lock up. Jericho gets a side headlock on. The WWE Rewind is Mickie James beating Michelle McCool at the Royal Rumble for the Women’s Championship. Mickie then shoves McCool and Layla’s faces in cake. At least it’s over… I hope.

Tony Chimel introduces the new Women’s Champion Mickie James. Mickie takes the microphone and says ever since she was traded to Smackdown, Michelle McCool and Layla made it their business to embarrass her week after week. Mickie said the jokes and pranks hurt but at the Royal Rumble we did it. Mickie says we proved by rising above and being true to yourself that being real is what a true champion is about. For anyone that tries to cut you down and bring you down what goes around comes around. What’s all this “we” stuff? I don’t want to be involved.

Beth Phoenix’s music hits and she comes down to the ring. We’re reminded that she was in the Royal Rumble and eliminated the Great Khali. That was a cool moment. Beth says while Mickie was busy celebrating her victory over “two little girls,” she was out making history by participating in the Royal Rumble with twenty-nine MEN. That moment put her in a league of her own. Beth says she’s proud Mickie had her moment after standing up for what she believes in before saying she’ll take that Women’s Championship anytime, anywhere. Mickie says if Beth wants a match all she has to do is ask.

EXCUSE ME! Vickie Guerrero comes out to the stage. Guerrero says this is not happening. She’s the official consultant of Smackdown and she’ll determine if there’s a match or not. SHE SAID EXCUSE ME! Guerrero says since they both feel like competing then they’ll both face Michelle McCool and Layla right now.

Mickie James & Beth Phoenix vs. Michelle McCool & Layla

Mr. V’s boy the Goose is the official. It’s Michelle McCool starting out against Beth Phoenix. They lock up and Beth powers her down. Beth picks her up by her arm and slams her down. McCool no sells, kicks her, and hits an uppercut. Beth whips her to the corner and shoulders her there. McCool dropkicks her in the knee and works over it. McCool hits a pair of leg breakers for a one count. McCool tries for her Make a Diva Tap submission but can’t get it. Beth knocks Layla off the apron and lifts McCool up, slamming her into her corner.

Mickie is tagged in and she works on the arm until Beth lays her out with a HUGE forearm. Beth smiles at McCool and lays her out with another forearm. Beth walks off, leaving Mickie alone. Layla is tagged in and Mickie gets a surprise inside cradle for the win.

Winners by Pinfall: Mickie James & Beth Phoenix
Match Rating: *

Mickie James holds her Women’s Championship and angrily looks at Beth Phoenix, who is up the ramp by now.

Did you know in 2009 over 2.3 billion photos were viewed on WWE.com? Does that mean there are 2.3 billion photos on WWE.com? I know what they meant but it’s worded poorly.

It’s time for an edition of Cryme Tyme’s Word Up because I’ve been missing this oh so much… Today’s word is “King,” which means supreme, above all the rest, without equal, loved and respected by all peeps and peers. Shad is glad because the word is king because they’re in Memphis, home of great kings. B.B. King, Elvis Presley, and Jerry “The King” Lawler! Jerry Lawler walks up and shakes hands with him. They say he’s so big in Memphis that they call him Jerry Baller! Lawler says it’s good to be the King and now they’re going to look for “puppies!” I like that cameo.

Rey Mysterio and Dolph Ziggler come to the ring. They’ll face in the final qualifying match next.

-Commercial Break-

NXT is coming soon… like about three weeks.

Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match
Rey Mysterio vs. Dolph Ziggler

Charles Robinson, my favorite referee ever, is the official. They lock up and Ziggler gets a quick waist lock takedown. Ziggler rides Mysterio before Mysterio gets out. They lock up and Ziggler gets a side headlock. Mysterio punches him off before sending him into the ropes but he gets clotheslined down for a one count. Ziggler then gets a two count before Mysterio powers him up with his legs. Mysterio hits a knees on the shoulder roll up for a near fall. They trade punches and kicks with Mysterio coming out on top. Ziggler reverses a whip and Mysterio counters with a head-scissors takeover that sends Ziggler out of the ring. Mysterio then lays him out with a plancha!

Ziggler punches Mysterio on the apron but Mysterio punches him away. Mysterio goes to the top and comes off with a cross-body but Ziggler dropkicks him in mid-air for a near fall! Mysterio counters a back suplex and drop-toe-holds Ziggler into position. Mysterio goes to the ropes for the 619 but Ziggler gets out of the ring.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Ziggler punching Mysterio. Ziggler whips him to the corner and props him on the top rope. Mysterio punches him away but Ziggler quickly gets back on the attack. Ziggler hits a nice superplex and covers for a near fall! Ziggler kicks Mysterio and locks on the chin lock. Ziggler then locks on a grounded torture rack. Mysterio gets out with a knee to the temple but it doesn’t bother Ziggler. Ziggler catapults him to the corner but Mysterio lands on the second rope. Mysterio hits a back elbow and drop-toe-holds him in the corner.

Mysterio springboards off the top with a seated senton. Mysterio runs into a boot and Ziggler goes for a sunset flip but Mysterio rolls through and kicks him in the skull for a near fall! Mysterio has a whip reversed by he hangs on to the ropes. Ziggler charges into a boot. Mysterio springboards off the second rope with a wheelbarrow bulldog for a near fall! Ziggler uses the pants as leverage to send him to the turnbuckle face first. Ziggler whips him to the ropes but Mysterio slingshots over him. Mysterio ducks a clothesline and goes for a springboard cross-body but Ziggler counters with a powerslam for a near fall! That looked awesome!

Ziggler hits a leg bulldog for a near fall. Ziggler punches Mysterio in the corner and sends him to the corner. Ziggler hits a backbreaker and goes for a back suplex but Mysterio rolls him up and gets the win out of nowhere!

Winner by Pinfall: Rey Mysterio
Match Rating: ** ½

Ziggler angrily charges Mysterio but takes a drop-toe-hold into the ropes. Mysterio then hits the 619 and celebrates with the fans! As we watch replays Matt Striker pulled out an old school Dusty Rhodes “IF YOU WHEEL!” Nice! The Elimination Chamber will now be Undertaker vs. John Morrison vs. R-Truth vs. CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio!

The Cutting Edge with the Undertaker is next!

-Commercial Break-

Edge makes his triumphant return to Smackdown seven months removed from a ruptured Achilles tendon! The winner of the 2010 Royal Rumble comes to the ring, which is decorated with the black carpet with the “Rated R Superstar” logo on it. The Cutting Edge is back!

Edge soaks in the cheers and says it feels really good to be back. It feels good to be on Smackdown and it feels so good to be back home. Back in July he tore his Achilles tendon but every ounce of energy, every drop of sweat, and all that pain was worth it to get back here for this very moment. Edge says he has defied the doctor’s odds. He’s back months earlier than he’s supposed to be. Now, because of it, he’s on the road to the main event of WrestleMania. At WrestleMania he could face his guest tonight on the Cutting Edge, the Undertaker. Edge says he could also face the WWE Champion Sheamus, the same guy who got in his face. We then see a video of how that turned out for Sheamus. If you missed it he got Speared! Edge laughs at the footage and says that was fun.

All of a sudden Chris Jericho’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring looking none too pleased. Jericho tosses stool aside and says he wants to talk about fun. Jericho says he was waiting for the moment to be in the main event of WrestleMania and Edge took that away from him. Jericho won’t let him stand out here and bask in the glory of his tainted win. Jericho says Edge didn’t deserve to win – he did. Edge says the reason why he doesn’t deserve to win is because Edge threw him over the top rope at the Royal Rumble. Jericho asks if Edge thinks he’s better just because of his sneak attack. Jericho says he’s the face of Smackdown and Edge says he isn’t. Edge says Jericho took a career ending injury, something that would’ve taken away his dream he’d had since a kid, and turned it into a punch line. Edge says he wants Jericho to eat those words. For the last six months he’s had to watch him on TV saying he’s the best in the world at what he does. Edge says he’s sick of Jericho’s cheap suits and that stupid look on his face. Edge says he’s sick of his face all together.

CM Punk’s music hits and he comes out flanked by his Straightedge Society. Punk says they almost look beautiful up there, showing their tragic flaws for the entire world to see. The crowd chants that he sucks and Punk says he’s better than everybody. Punk says Edge and Jericho look like junkies arguing over who will get the last fix. Punk says it’s not about them – it’s about the Elimination Chamber and the Undertaker. When you talk about the Undertaker and who out of the three of them has had a bigger spotlight than him, the savior of the WWE Universe. While Edge was on vacation he must’ve seen that Punk was the first superstar to make Undertaker tap out. That’s something Edge and Jericho could never do. Punk then became the first man to look the WWE Universe in the face and challenge them to live one nation under Punk, indivisible, with integrity, and sobriety for all. If either of those two cowards needs any more evidence then look no further than the Elimination Chamber. Punk says he will win!

The GONG hits and the lights go out! When they come back on Undertaker is in the ring. Undertaker fights off the Straightedge Society while Edge Spears Chris Jericho! Undertaker hits a Chokeslam on CM Punk and turns around to see Edge in position to Spear him. Edge says he was close and signals for the championship. They have a stare down as Smackdown ends.

Mike’s Thoughts

This was an enjoyable episode of Smackdown. I love the Road to WrestleMania. The shows always pick up some steam on the way to the big show. The important feuds that will be heading into the show are being set now. I don’t want to really call anything just yet but I have a good feeling Jericho will be the champion heading into WrestleMania and his opponent will be none other than Edge. That’s a Main Event match I’d like to see. The seeds planted months ago and now they’re sprouting with two great segments with them tonight. They’re both great promo artists and tremendous wrestlers. The build-up should be tremendous. Man am I glad that Edge is back!

Speaking of the Road to WrestleMania, the Smackdown side of the Elimination Chamber looks great. It’s Undertaker vs. John Morrison vs. R-Truth vs. CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio. That’s going to be awesome. I even like that R-Truth is in it. I hope he gets some moments to shine and then shines in the Money in the Bank match. He’s growing on me but I’m getting tired of the song.

I don’t think we’ll be seeing much more of Batista on Smackdown for a little bit seeing how he just walked off on his match. It seems he’s going to be Vince McMahon’s muscle heading into WrestleMania against Bret Hart. That’ll be interesting.

Awesome Kong Done With TNA?

 Source: Prowrestling.net

As noted earlier, Awesome Kong requested her release from TNA following her one-sided physical encounter with shock jock Bubba the Love Sponge backstage at a recent television taping. She has been telling friends that officials refused to grant her release from the organization. She countered by telling management that she would not be appearing on the UK tour despite being advertised. However, she did give into working a match the night following her altercation with Bubba. Furthermore, the issue between Kong and Bubba has apparently been resolved following a meeting between her, Hulk Hogan, and Eric Bischoff, though some internally feel it wouldn't be too surprising to see it turned into a storyline if and when she returns.

It should be noted that much of the lingering heat between Kong and TNA is said to be over a financial dispute. She is especially touchy when she notices the company spending frivolously on newcomers while also claiming that they can't afford to give raises to her and her fellow Knockouts. The assumption within the company is that Tara and perhaps Christy Hemme are paid well due to their past history with World Wrestling Entertainment, but there is much frustration over the pay that the other females receive.

TNA's Suicide (Kaz) Having Affair?

TNA Wrestling News is reporting the following;

As we noted last week here on TNAWrestlingNews.com, there was a wild story making the rounds involving Frankie 'Kaz/Suicide' Kazarian that we wanted to confirm before posting.

According to our source, Frankie has been involved in an affair that real-life wife Traci Brooks recently found out about. The two were married just several weeks ago.

We've also heard from our source that a sex tape may exist. Frankie has denied any wrongdoing while Traci is still trying to figure out details of what exactly went down.

We posted several exposed photos of Kaz last night. Click here to view them.

We have been able to 100% confirm this story is legit.

It's interesting to note that on Facebook, Traci Brooks changed her last name from Brookshaw to Brooks, made her page private, and removed previously posted wedding photos of her and Frankie Kazarian (a/k/a Suicide). Furthermore, Kazarian deleted his MySpace and Facebook pages earlier this week, though the Facebook page has since been reactivated. He wrote on Tuesday, "Tired, pretty banged up, but had a great tour. Most importantly home with my beautiful wife."

An unnamed TNA Knockout had the following to say;

"I didn't believe it at first, but then I started to hear it from more and more guys that would know the truth. I was at the wedding just a few weeks ago and everything looked so beautiful and they looked like the happiest couple. I would have never thought this was possible in a million years."

Hulk Hogan And Bret Hart's Superbowl Pick

Hogan:

"New Orleans, 35-6. New Orleans has an amazing new energy this year, both as a team and a city. They survived Hurricane Katrina, and if they could survive that, they can survive anything."

Hart:

 "Anyhow, as for the Super Bowl on Sunday between the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints, I've decided after great deliberation to pull for the Saints but I think Manning will pull it out of the fire. Most importantly, I hope it's close anyway."

Tonight's WWE RAW Preview!

The following is from WWE;

NASCAR driver Carl Edwards will be the special guest host of tonight's WWE Monday Night Raw live from Lafayette, LA. Already confirmed for the show is a big triple threat tag team match with DX (Triple H & Shawn Michaels) defending the WWE Unified Tag Team Championships against Big Show & WWE U.S. Champion The Miz and CM Punk & Luke Gallows.

Honkey Tonk Explains Negotiations With TNA

Honkey Tonk Man posted the following on Myspace;

"When I said there was no TNA deal I was referring to 'On Air.' As stated on my official website, TNA contacted HTM in December to negotiate a deal. Since there are pending legal issues, I can not say too much. I can say TNA and HTM have been in negotiations concerning a deal with Jakks Pacific for an action figure merchandise deal."

Shane Douglas On WWE's ECW Brand!

The Franchise had the following to say during an interview with Fan House;

"I was extremely frustrated but the veteran in me said that it's pretty much what I expected and if you go back and look at interviews at the time I said as much. I knew that Vince was short-sided. If there was one thing I could be positive of was that he'd screw that up. And sure enough he did, sadly he did."

This Weekend's TNA House Show Attendance

Saturday night's TNA live event in Joplin, Missouri drew approximately 2,000 fans to the 2,700 seat Joplin Memorial

 Hall.

*Defiantly an increase here which is great for TNA!

Brooke Hogan To TNA?

Slam Wrestling posted the following;

"With Brooke Hogan's career in music and television stalled, it is rumored she might take an on-camera role with TNA."

Steiner Officially Done With TNA

After his profile was removed from the TNA website's roster section last week, we can confirm that Scott Steiner is officially done with the company.

WWE RAW To Go 3 Hours Against TNA???

There is talk within WWE of making RAW three-hours each week if TNA moves to Monday nights for good. There has also been talk of keeping the guest host storyline booked if TNA goes to Mondays.

Apparently the USA Network is high on RAW going to three-hours but Vince and Stephanie McMahon are both said to be against it. Word is that this is something being talked about a lot among some in the company.

Beer Money Unhappy With TNA?

Source: The Pro Wrestling Torch

Beer Money, Inc.  James Storm and Robert Roode have been expressing their frustration to people backstage after they received word that TNA creative director Vince Russo said he didn't see them as top stars. Actually, Russo said that they were expendable, but a source notes that he may have been trying to send the outspoken Storm a message.

Storm was said to be very upset with Beer Money, Inc.'s limited role on the live Monday Night iMPACT! on Jan. 4. In one scene, they were shown shaking hands with Ric Flair upon his arrival to the Impact! Zone. Later that night, they were shown selling a beat down from an unidentified assailant.

It should be noted that there is no noticeable friction between the duo and Russo as observers say they get along fine backstage.

*This is a true shame, considering that both men, especially Rude, have the potential to be great future TNA World Heavyweight Champions.

Just in case you missed what we did on Thursday here is a quick review once again:

RF VIDEO has been running all over the city of Philadelphia over the last 24 hours with former WCW World Champion DDP.  It all started last night when we kicked off our new DVD series On the Road with Diamond Dallas Page at the Market Street Station where we picked him up.  We had our cameras rolling from the time he got off the train until he checked into his 5 star hotel at the Four Seasons.   Wait until you see the trouble we caused by filming at the hotel…there are tons of WCW road stories on this DVD as well.  You will hear about his troubles with Ric Flair after his book came out and how DDP fixed the situation.  What heat did he have with the Undertaker and the WWE office if there was any at all….What happened the first time he talked to Dusty Rhodes…What are his views on the Chris Benoit tragedy?  The entire DVD will run over three hours but the main focus of this DVD was his media appearances today in Philadelphia which we were able to capture as well on this DVD from the radio show with Danny Bonaduce and Ukee Washington on Talk Philadelphia to promote his amazing YRG DVD's.

RF VIDEO was granted permission to film everything behind the scenes at the Danny Bonaduce show and we were even there in the studio and filmed his appearance on Dannys show.  They talk in great detail about TNA and if DDP would ever go back to the company.  The main focus of the appearance was DDP promoting his YRG DVD's which are a must for anybody looking to get in shape.  I actually did some of this last night with him in the hotel and its amazing.  He also showed me a video which you can check out on his new website that we plugged last night where this one guy who could not even walk can now run and he lost so much weight.  We actually will show the footage on this DVD too.  Danny was so impressed with the YRG workout that he is going to take it on as well as myself.  I am not fat or anything but this program will get you super in shape and give you abs of steal.

Everyone was great at Danny's show and they treated us well.  We than went out for Breakfast since his appearance was like at 7AM and we filmed all of our car rides as well.  From there we went back to his hotel for more talk with DDP about his YRG programs and of course wrestling talk!!  We headed out around 11AM for a private tour of the CBS studio here in Philly.  We were able to film all of this as well and we filmed DDP in the green room waiting to go on with Ukee Washington.  We also filmed everything behind the scenes with Ukee Washington as his staff was also amazing with us.  I met Ukee about 10 years ago when I was on the news for my pro wrestling shopps that I had in this area.  He actually remembered our interview together since Steve Austin was also on the same show via satellite. We had DDP and Ukee do a private interview for this DVD as well.

The highlight of the show was DDP teaching the staff how to do YRG once again.  You will all be amazed at the results as we are going to really push his YRG products thru this DVD.  It's some amazing workouts that really get you results.

The entire day was just amazing and loads of fun.  We can't thank everyone enough especially the staff over at CBS and Danny Bonaduce show.  I also want to thank DDP who allowed us to take part in this and he really let us into his world over the past 24 hours.  If you ever met DDP you know he always goes that extra mile and he was working non stop all day in his hotel on his website and company as he lives for YRG.  We can't wait to release this new on the road DVD so you can see a whole new person and see how DDP is outside of the squared circle!!!
