Turning The Page
Travis Smith (Pleasant Plain, OH) 8/10/2010 12:28 PM
This series of shows picks up following the aftermath of the 1994 The Night The Line Was Crossed where Funk/Douglas/Sabu had a 3 way 1 hour draw for the ECW Title. Clips of the event are sprinkled through a few episodes while featuring 911, Mikey Whippwreck, Pat Tanaka, Jimmy Snuka, Tommy Dreamer, Shane Douglas, Sabu, Pit Bull 1, Rockin' Rebel, Tommy Cairo, JT Smith, Johnny Hotbody, Tony Stetson, Bruise Brothers, Kevin Sullivan, Taz, Mike Awesome, Sal Bellomo, Public Enemy, Hawk, Mr. Hughes, & Crash The Terminator (aka Hugh Morris). The influx of stars spread through out this series of DVDs up to this point reads like a who's who of the 80's and 90's who later on helped WWF and WCW plot and ploy against one another! ECW continued to prove to be the catalyst of breaking down the barriers and giving people a chance to make it as episodes 43-48 begin to show signs of ECW turning up the heat. The low point of this set was the weak build of Chad Austin as an underdog, this later got put on Mikey Whippwreck which worked much better. The high points of this set was Douglas/Funk Press Conference showdown & reactions which began to show the boldness of ECW; also the mini feud between Snuka & Dreamer.
